Sgt. Kyle LaBere

A St. Joseph County Native and Navy Veteran, Training Division Sergeant LaBere joined the St. Joseph County Police Department in 2014 and was promoted to Officer in 2015 where he graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. In his role, he is responsible for maintaining training records for Merit, Reserves, Horse Posse, Courthouse, and Jail Staff, as well as implementing new and continuing training for staff. Sgt. LaBere is the Lead Firearms Instructor for the Department. Sgt. LaBere has served several different positions with SJCPD including Patrol, Special Victims Unit Investigator, FBI Safe Streets Gang Task Force Officer, and then being promoted to Sergeant of 2nd detail Road Patrol in 2022. In November of 2023 Sgt. LaBere was given the position of Training Coordinator.
