Recruiting Division Sergeant Cynthia Guest

Cynthia Guest has served as a law enforcement officer with the St. Joseph County Police Department since 1993. In 2005 she became the department’s first certified polygraph examiner in 25 years and has conducted over 1,000 tests. In addition to conducting polygraphs, she currently oversees the hiring and recruiting division. She is the D.A.R.E. Program Director and teaches at 11 different elementary schools. In 2020 she started the Law Enforcement Pipeline program with Clay High School, which mentors’ high school students interested in a career in criminal justice. She serves on the local board for the Partnership for Education and Prevention of Substance Abuse and the South Bend Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee. Cynthia’s passion for enriching youth’s lives does not end at work. She is a coach for Girls on the Run and a mentor for Big Brothers/Big Sisters in her spare time.
